For machining, we need to know some knowledge points of machining. Machining is the process of changing the overall dimension or performance of the workpiece with mechanical equipment. There are many different machining types. What are the seven commonly used machining processes?
1. Turning: turning is to cut the metal on the workpiece. When the workpiece rotates, the tool cuts into or turns along the workpiece.
2. Milling: metal cutting with rotary tool, mainly used for machining groove linear surface, and also for machining arc surface with two or three axes.
3. Boring: Boring is a processing method to enlarge or further process the hole on the drilled or cast workpiece. The workpiece is mainly used to process the pass with large shape, large diameter and high precision.
4. Planing: The main feature of planing is to process the linear surface of the profile. Generally, the surface roughness is not as high as that of the milling machine.
5. Slotting: slotting is actually a kind of vertical planer, whose tool moves up and down, which is very suitable for incomplete arc machining, and is mainly used for cutting certain types of gears.
6. Grinding: grinding is a processing method that uses grinding wheels to remove metal and make the workpiece size accurate and surface smooth. It is mainly used for finishing the workpiece after heat treatment to obtain accurate size.
7. Drilling: drilling is to use a rotary drill to drill on solid metal workpiece; When drilling, the workpiece shall be positioned, clamped and fixed; In addition to rotation, the drill bit also feeds along its own axis.
